Salam 3lykom Muslim brothers and sisters who are reading this. In this post we are going to share about Islam and fashion. We are not going to talk too much, just want to share some images throughout the years that can be inspring to our fashion sense ^^

ISLAMIC FASHION FESTIVAL 2007 , KUALA LUMPUR

I like how the elements of the East and West are merged and blended thus creating a subtle yet elegant designs. It truly brings the Islamic identity in you.

Abayas are given the Western touch from the choices of the colours by Roxana Mariam

The formal and elegant designs suit the Muslima at the workplace and even going for shopping.

Betty Benafe and Ameera Aamer.

I simply love Ameera Aamer's designs, she managed to brings out the Khaleejy element in her abayas. My favourite will be the second pic which the design is more Bedouin-like. ^^

I really love the choice of colours by Puan Nor Aini. The combination of purple and pastel and earthy colours keep us looking modest yet fashionable.

ISLAMIC FASHION FESTIVAL 2009 , KUALA LUMPUR
The designs focused on giving a modern touch to the traditional apparels. Tell me what do you think about them??

Too much blends of colours is not my thing tho ^^.

The modest attire from Malaysia (left) what the Malaysian called as Baju Kedah, is truly elegant, trendy, and modest . Middle - Melinda Looi's 3abaya is a total haute couture.

Malaysian women traditional attire Baju Kurung is given the royal touch.

I would rate Mr Jamal Taslaq Palastine 5 stars for this very alluring attire.

Surprisingly, I prefer the designs from Islamic Fashion Festival 2007 as compared to the ones in 2009 O_o..... What do you think?? Let's see what the Dubai Fashion Week has in store --->

DUBAI FASHION WEEK 2009/2010

Malaysia blends a lot of colours to suit its traditional female attire Baju Kurung (which is often seen to be colourful). Dubai has something else to offer you indeed.

Amal and Raghda's collection are simply the best, maintaining the looseness of the 3abayas ^^ is utterly a must.

I definitely love the designs but the see-through arms should be covered.

I love the colour gold ^^

At a glance this jalabiya will definitely stick your eyes on it! As a lady it is something you want to have, but as a Muslima, well it's rather too much. (Dh500,000 - pure gold)

Stunning cyan elegant caftan. Very modest!

Arabia Fashion Week Dubai 2009

Open front 3abaya (left) is definitely gorgeous. Yah! It is meant to be worn with some inner garments ^^

KUALA LUMPUR AND DUBAI FASHION WEEK/FESTIVAL 2007/2009
MALE FASHION INSPIRATION

Giving a refreshing look to the thobe ^^. What shall we call it? A modern thobe, I wonder if men will wear it instead of the traditional thobe.

salam nour, loooool yah many khaleejy men would prefer the traditional thobe or dishdasha, i guess fashion is mainly made for women ^^ for muslima as long as it is modest in many ways, then the green light is on! :))

I concur : I'm not khaleejy but I still prefer the traditional men clothes ^_^ The others are nice too, but like my sister said, maybe they're used for big occasions, like weddings and such. Can't see myself wearing that on a day to day basis, way too pompous. Not exactly what you'd call modest attires :D

As for the women clothes, obviously those models did NOT visit your blog and did NOT read your "Hijaby dos and donts" :D Most of their clothes are non islamic. I already told you this I know, but had to comment anyway :D

:) yah most men would prefer the male traditional thobe, as for women it's the other way round i guess,
well for the ladies fashion shots in this blog, those are made for art and fashion, we have to adopt and adapt, still i find the beauty of more covered and less skin is displayed quite well, i don't like too much blends of colours (less modest).
